Two Suspected in Bike Theft Arrested on Other Charges
Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.
Two people were arrested on unrelated charges Aug. 19 after they were suspected of stealing a bicycle at Metra’s La Grange Road train station, 24 W. Burlington Ave.
A couple told police at about 2:52 p.m. that they saw a man and woman cut the lock off a bicycle and steal it. The accused thieves went east on Harris Avenue in a silver car that was stopped by Brookfield police. No bicycle was listed as being in the car, according to the La Grange police shift report.
One occupant, Jose A. Frias, 28, of Cicero, was wanted on warrants in Kendall County for failure to appear in court on a shoplifting charge and in Cook County for failure to pay child support. He was turned over to Kendall County sheriff’s police and Cook County sheriff’s police also were notified.

Tane A. Esqwivel, 45, of Chicago was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle. She posted bond.
Home break-in tried

Someone tried Aug. 17 to break into a home on the 500 block of Homestead Road, according to La Grange Park police.
The handle of the screen door and a window were broken. No entry was made. The exact time of occurrence is unknown, police said.
Bike, parts stolen
A purple, pink and gray Tiara Pro mountain bike was stolen out of a back yard on the 100 block of west Washington Avenue Aug. 18 or 19. Its value was less than $300.
The front and rear lights of a Giant bicycle were stolen Aug. 19 while it was parked outside the owner’s apartment on the 0-100 block of south LaGrange Road.
Volleyball money stolen
An envelope marked, “LT volleyball money,” and containing $240 and checks for the Lyons Township High School volleyball team, was reported lost Aug. 19.
Items stolen out of car
A light green iPod worth less than $100 and a bag of coins were reported Aug. 20 as having been stolen out of a vehicle parked on the 800 block of south Kensington Avenue.
Car hits fence
A maroon Chevrolet Lumina was reported to hit the fence of a building on the 300 block of Bluff at about 10:50 p.m. Aug. 22. The fence was knocked off its track, but nor permanently damaged, police said. Police were given a possible license plate number of the car but said it did not match the description.
Car running with kids locked inside
La Grange police entered a Buick Enclave with two toddlers and a baby that was running at 52 S. LaGrange Road and whose owner was locked out at about 5:24 p.m. Aug. 21.
