Blotter: Woman Chased Into Her Home by Suspicious Man and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

Two women living on the 0-100 block of south Spring Avenue reported seeing a suspicious man who chased one of them to her door.

One woman told police on April 24 that she saw a very suspicious man standing outside her front door at about 1 p.m. on April 1, looking inside in a “creepy” way. When she made eye contact, he ran away. She described him as thin; medium height; of an unknown age; and having bulging eyes and dark hair.

A man matching that description was involved in an incident four days ago with a female neighbor living across the street, she told police. Her neighbor told her that the man chased her and she had to run inside her home, hurry and close the door.

A woman living on the 300 block of south Kensington Avenue reported April 25 that a man came to her door at about 3:40 p.m., claimed he bought two houses in the area, followed her inside and was checking out all her rooms before she was able to get him out.

The man told her that he was going to have garbage crews pick up a lot of trash from behind her house and across the street and asked her to grab a piece of paper to write down the number of the service. When she went inside her house, he followed her.

He was described as about 6-foot-3 and wearing work clothes. A new, smaller-size truck, that possibly had been occupied by the man,  was in her driveway at the time. She told police she found no houses are for sale in her area.

La Grange police told her to call 9-1-1 next time she sees him and not to let anyone in her home.

La Grange Park police received a call at about 2:35 p.m. April 15 of an impaired driver in a gold car that was going south on La Grange Road at Harding.

Police saw a gold 1996 Toyota Camry with a license plate matching that given by the caller stopped at a red light at Homestead Avenue. When the light turned green, the car hesitated a few seconds and continued southbound, drifting toward the white dotted line for about two blocks and straddling it, police said.

When the officer turned on the lights and siren to stop the car, it drifted from the inside to curb lanes without signaling and stopped on the 300 block, police said. They said the driver had slurred and drawn-out speech and her eyes were red and glassy. Police said she walked unsteadily when exiting her car and failed three field sobriety tests
