Sunday, May 12

Fighting kids

A woman reported two kids punching each other near the basketball courts at 701 S. 7th Ave. around 4:54 p.m., La Grange police said. The kids were gone when officers arrived.

Prescription drug dust-up

A woman caused a disturbance at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road, around 1:58 p.m. after her insurance declined to cover a prescription she was picking up for her mother, police said. The woman called police because Walgreens wouldn’t give her the medication unless she paid for it out of pocket. The officer told her this was a matter between her, Walgreens and the insurance company. She became disruptive, called the officer a few names and stormed off, the report said.

Refusal to pay

A customer got into a fight with a cab driver about the fare and left without paying around 2:21 a.m. in the 1000 block of South 8th Avenue, police said.

Girls take bricks

Three girls who looked like they were in eighth grade took bricks from the yard of a vacant property in the 900 block of South 8th Avenue, police said. Police entered a special watch for the property and the caller was told to call police immediately if he sees something like that happen again.

Poop deck

Someone defecated on the back deck of a home in the 100 block of Bassford Avenue and then smeared the feces around the patio, patio furniture and fire pit, police said. The resident said she didn’t have any idea who could have done it.

Friday, May 10

Tobacco sold to minor

Natalie Sanchez, 20, an employee at the Shell gas station located at 4701 Willow Springs Road, was cited for selling tobacco to a minor during an enforcement sting, police said. The license holder was also issued a citation.

Playing on train tracks

Two kids were reportedly playing on the center tracks in front of the La Grange Road train station around 6:19 p.m., police said. Officers were unable to locate the kids when they went to check out the situation.

Stolen purse

A woman’s purse was stolen from La Grange Memorial Hospital around 7 p.m., police said. The purse and its contents were worth less than $500.

Hit and run in parking garage

A car hit another car that was parked in the downtown parking garage around 7:16 p.m. and drove away, police said.

Rock throwers

Someone threw rocks at a house in the 200 block of Washington Avenue around 7:49 p.m., police said. Officers were unable to find the suspects.

Foul-mouthed bell ringers

Two teens were given a warning after they rang a man’s doorbell and started swearing at him around 9:29 p.m. in the 200 block of West Harris Avenue, police said.

No driver’s license

Javier Carrillo-Padilla, 23, of the 6000 block of Lenzi in Hodgkins, was arrested at the La Grange Police Department around 12:19 a.m., police said. An officer was giving him a ride after his car needed to be towed, but later charged him with driving without a license.
