Three From La Grange Hurt in Two-car Accident

La Grange police respond twice in one night to arguments between a mother and her daughter.

A driver and his two passengers, all from La Grange, were taken to Hinsdale Hospital  June 1 after their car was hit by another vehicle at Tilden and Lincoln avenues at about 3:33 p.m.

A Carol Stream man was southbound on Tilden when he halted at the stop sign and entered the intersection and struck the car going east on Lincoln driven by the 37-year-old La Grange man, police man.  The eastbound car had no stop sign. His passengers are 6 and 18 years old.

The other driver, Joseph F. Cimbora Jr., 55, was ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection.

Mother-daughter argument

La Grange police went twice to an apartment in the 800 block of south La Grange Road the night of June 1  about arguments between a mother and daughter.

In the first incident, police responded at about 11:13 p.m. June 1 after a caller said the females had been arguing for 30 minutes. The mother said she found alcohol in her daughter’s bedroom and believes it is for a post-prom party. The daughter refused to say where she bought the alcohol and she she was going to drink it, according to police. The two said they would separate for the night.

At about 12:08 a.m. June 2, police returned and the mother told them her daughter was trying to steal $110 from her. The money was going to be borrowed but was returned to the mother, police said. The two again said they would stay separate.

Trailer stolen

A skid loader trailer worth an estimated $20,000 was stolen between 4 p.m. May 31 and 6:30 a.m. June 1 at Bluff and Elm avenues, police said.

Fence hit

Andrew Cox, 61, of Hinsdale was ticketed for operating an uninsured motor vehicle after La Grange police said his car hit a fence at McDonald's, 100 N. La Grange Road, at about 1:50 p.m. May 27.

Fire reported

The La Grange Fire Department responded at about 6:50 p.m. June 1 to a report of an apartment fire in the 800 block of Arlington Avenue.  

No sleeping in the court

Two men who were taking a nap on the basketball courts at Gordon Park, Ogden and Locust avenues, were sent on their way at about 9:45 a.m. June 1.

No saved spots

Police said they told the owner of a shop in the 0-100 block of west Harris Avenue that traffic cones cannot be used to block parking spaces after the store owner reportedly put a cone in a space and told a driver she could not park there at about 2:46 p.m. May 31.

Purse thrown out twice

A purse thrown out a car window at 47th Street and Eighth Avenue at about 3:40 p.m. May 31 was found to be filled with food wrappers and garbage, and in bad condition. Police disposed of the purse.

No parking, even if giving away samples

A vehicle parked in a no-parking zone on Cossitt Avenue west of Brainard Avenue and giving away free samples of Red Bull beverage was forced by police to move at about 1:13 p.m. May 31.
