Friday, July 12

Graffiti on House

Two men on bicycles were seen spray-painting graffiti on a house in the 800 block of South La Grange Road around 6:44 p.m., police said.

Suspended, Revoked License

John A. Schuerman, 39, of the 8500 block of West 44th Street in Lyons, was arrested around 11:32 a.m. near the intersection of Calendar and Kensington, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Man Harasses Woman in Park

A woman said a man with a heavy accent who looked like he was in his 40s wearing a red and black backpack harassed her in Elm Park around 11:55 a.m., police said. Officers were unable to find the man.

Possible Medical Alert Scam

A woman in the 800 block of South Waiola received a call around 4:54 p.m. from a company saying it wanted to deliver a medical alert button she had purchased, police said. The woman said no one in the home had purchased such an item. Police recorded it as a matter of record.

Graffiti on DMJ Automotive

The garage at DMJ Automotive was tagged with graffiti around 2:05 p.m., police said. DMJ filmed the incident with a security camera.

Hit-and-Run

A black car struck another vehicle and drove off around 7:50 p.m. in the 800 block of West Hillgrove, police said.

Man Walks around Railroad Gate

A man was ticketed for walking around the railroad gate at Kensington and Burlington around 8:22 a.m., police said.

Wednesday, July 10

Suspended, Revoked License

Rudy C. Burns, 19, of the 200 block of Washington Avenue in La Grange, was arrested around 11:41 p.m. in the 200 block of Washington, police said. She was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Threatening Telemarketer

A person got a phone call while in the 0-99 block of South La Grange Road from someone trying to sell seal-coating, police said. The telemarketer called back after his pitch was refused and threatened the person, police said.

Noisy Crowd

A group of 15-20 people were yelling at each other around 6:37 p.m. near the intersection of Washington and Calendar, police said. Many of the people left when they heard police sirens, according to witnesses. None of the people involved were at the scene when police arrived.

Herd of Kids on Bikes

A group of about 18-20 kids were riding their bikes around La Grange and Burlington around 12:30 a.m., police said. Most left the area when officers arrived, but one cyclist was issued a local ordinance citation.
