Teens Out Late Among 4 Incidents Involving Kids

Here is a list of items from the La Grange police blotter.

Two 15-year-old girls and an 18-year-old man who were seen at about 1:18 a.m. June 28 at LaGrange Road and Hillgrove Avenue were sent on their way home by La Grange police.

Kids in Gordon Park, Ogden and Locust avenues, after hours at about 10 p.m. June 27 were sent on their way by police.

Kids in the park at 53rd Street and Spring Avenue after hours at about 9:13 p.m. June 26 were gone by the time police arrived.

A LaGrange man reported his 14-year-old son was hit by an egg thrown by a stranger in a green pickup truck at Drexel and Hillgrove avenues at about 10:22 p.m. June 27. The boy was not hurt.

No selling in lot

A Florida man who was setting up a tent in the former Rich Port YMCA parking lot, 31 E. Ogden Ave., to sell sheets and linen was told by police to take down the tent and leave at about 4:40 p.m. June 25.  He did.

Late-night skateboarding discouraged

Two 19-year-old men, from La Grange and Riverside, who were reported skateboarding in the 800 block of south Seventh Avenue at about 1:04 a.m. June 26 were found by police on Eighth Avenue and sent home.

Loud noise reported

Loud noise was reported at about 1:17 a.m. June 25 from the rear of a building in the 200 block of East Avenue where the resident told police he would take it inside.  

All found, nothing lost

A men’s black/maroon mountain bike was found between two buildings on the 100 block of south Seventh Avenue, La Grange police found at about 6:55 p.m. June 26. Police traced the serial number to the bicycle owner, who lives about one block away.  

A brown and tan pug dog was found on Ashland Avenue June 26 and turned over to the Hinsdale Humane Society. The dog had an implanted microchip but police said they could not find the dog owner.

A black and white pit bull found at Brainard and Burlington avenues was brought in to the La Grange police station at about 12:51 p.m. June 24 and was turned over to the Hinsdale Humane Society.

A men’s black and blue Mongol Crush bicycle found at Cossitt and Bluff avenues was turned over to La Grange police at about 9:21 a.m. June 24.
