Monday, December 16Suspicious Person Turns Out to be Landlord
A woman in the 300 block of Bluff Avenue reported a suspicious person after she saw a man in her hallway tampering with her smoke detector around 5 p.m. Police said the man was actually the landlord who was updating the batteries.

Driving Without a License
Police charged Alexander Martin, 34, of the 800 block of West 42nd Street in La Grange, with driving without a license during a traffic stop near the intersection of Terry Lane and Brainard Avenue around 5:40 p.m. He was given a Jan. 9 court date and released.

Backpack Stolen
A man in the 0-100 block of Washington Avenue reported someone stole his backpack from his porch around 11:20 a.m.

Suspended/Revoked License Arrest
Police charged Brian Spencer, 60, of Northlake, with driving on a suspended/revoked license during a traffic stop at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Beacon Place around 9 a.m. He was given a Feb. 7 court date and released on bond.
Wednesday, December 11
Suspicious Man Playing Holiday Tunes
A man in the 0-100 block of North Drexel Avenue reported a man was holding up an iPod playing Christmas music around 8:15 p.m. and that it was suspicious.
Suspended/Revoked License Arrest
Police charged Shakyra Smith, 19, of Romeoville, with driving on a suspended/revoked license during a traffic stop at the intersection of East and Ogden avenues around 12:40 p.m. She was given a Feb. 7 court date and released.
Failure to Yield
Police charged Darius Didzgalvis, 40, of Darien, with failure to yield after an accident at the intersection of Kensington and Ogden avenues around 7:40 a.m. Police said Didzgalvis was making a left turn from eastbound Ogden Avenue onto northbound Kensington Avenue and was struck by another car and pushed into a streetlight when he failed to yield. No one was injured.
