Battery Arrest

An Oak Lawn man was arrested for battery after he allegedly punched someone in the face around 1:50 a.m. at a birthday party in La Grange Park.

Witnesses told police Demetrius Ryan, 20, returned to the party after he was asked to leave to apologize for causing a disturbance. When trying to apologize, one of the men at the party shoved Ryan, so Ryan put him in a headlock and held him on the ground, police said.

Ryan told police the man had punched him in the face first and that he didn’t have any injuries because he’s been in martial arts since he was little and has tough skin, police said.
