Here is an item from the La Grange Park police blotter.

A reputed gang member was stopped at about 8 p.m. Aug. 12  in La Grange Park after police said his motorcycle was speeding at 48 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1000 block of La Grange Road.

Thomas F. Pena, 22, of Justice, was ticketed for driving 48 mph in a 30 mph zone, and for driving while his license was suspended. He stopped his motorcycle at the corner of La Grange Road and 31st Street. Pena said he was going 34 mph but was shown the radar reading.

Police said they had an officer safety notice that Pena is involved in gang crime activity. His license had been suspended July 29 of this year for driving under the influence.
