Monday: Wrong Day to Lose a Snowblower

Someone stole a chainsaw and a snowblower from a garage in the 100 block of North Ridgeland Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Jan. 6. The total estimated loss is $350, police said. 

Eggs, Food Thrown at Car

Someone threw eggs and other food items at a car in the 900 block of Park Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 29. 
LA GRANGE

Kids Ask Dispatchers to Kill Siblings, Put Them in Jail

A small child called 911 and asked dispatchers to kill his sibling and take her to jail around 7 p.m. Dec. 20. Police advised the kids playing on the phone of the dangers of calling 911 without a real emergency.

Keyholes Superglued

A woman in the 900 block of South 8th Avenue reported someone put superglue in the keyholes of her car around 3:40 p.m. Dec. 29. 

Thief Needs Those Acorn Chips

A man in the 0-100 block of Dover Avenue reported someone broke into his apartment during the night on Dec. 25 and stole $40 and acorn chips. Police said there was no sign of forced entry to the apartment.

Man to Girl: "Why are you staring at me?"

A woman reported a man approached her 11-year-old daughter near Chase bank on Burlington Avenue and asked her “a bunch of weird questions" on Dec. 22.

Police said the man approached the girl and asked her why she was staring at him, whether she was familiar with the area and where Stone Avenue station was. He did not touch her or ask her to go with him, and no criminal activity occurred, police said.

FOREST PARK

Woman Does the Old Switcharoo on Changes on Meat, Sweatshirt at Wal-Mart

Police charged Charlene Pearson, 42, of Chicago, with retail theft after she allegedly changed the price tags on a package of meat and a sweatshirt at Wal-Mart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave., around 3:15 p.m. Dec. 30. She was charged with felony retail theft and given a Jan. 2 court date.
