Police Blotter: Scares Caused By 'Star Wars' Character Jumping Out of Bushes

La Grange police reports, June 23-25.

MONDAY, JUNE 25

Sleeping Driver Ticketed for Overnight Parking

A man found sleeping in his car parked on the 300 block of Bluff Avenue at about 4:36 a.m. on June 25 was ticketed for overnight parking and sent on his way, according to La Grange police. 

SUNDAY, JUNE 24

Use the Force

Someone dressed like a “Star  Wars” movie character was reported jumping out of bushes at Kensington and Elm avenues at about 10:14 p.m. and scaring people. The person who called police did not want officers to respond.

Kids With 'Gun' Cause Scare

Three kids ages 8 to 10 were reported walking north on the 0-100 block of north Spring Avenue at about 7:12 a.m. and one was carrying what appeared to be a BB gun. One youth was carrying an air soft gun and all three live on the block, according to police.

Brick Thrown Through Window

A resident of the 900 block of south Waiola Avenue had just returned home at about 1:51 p.m. and found that a brick had been thrown through one of the windows.

Two Walking to Hospital at 4 A.M.

La Grange police talked to two men seen on 47th Street just west of La Grange Road at about 4:08 a.m. June 24 with one of them limping. The injured man said he hurt his knee in Brookfield, had been treated by an ambulance crew and they were walking to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

Young Girl Seen Near Train Depot

A 3 or 4-year-old girl, who appeared to be alone was reported at La Grange Road and Burlington Avenue at about 4:57 p.m. She was gone when police arrived.

Looking for Leftovers Late at Night

A resident of the 200 block of Washington Avenue told police that a girl about 14 years old, wearing a white tank top and red or pink shorts, rang the doorbell at about 11:24 p.m. and asked for leftovers. Police could not find her.

Teen Taken to Hospital After Drinking in Park

An intoxicated 16-year-old boy was taken from the 100 block of north La Grange Road to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 7:44 p.m. after he and a 20-year-old friend had walked there from nearby Memorial Park in La Grange Park where they said they had been drinking.
