Rental Truck Hits Tree, Then Parks, La Grange Police Say
Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.
A Melrose Park resident was ticketed after a witness told La Grange police that the rental truck he was driving hit a tree on the parkway, backed up and parked.
Guadalupe Huerta, 27, was ticketed for damage to village-owned property and no valid driver’s license after the collision on Harris Avenue west of Ashland Avenue at about 12:19 p.m. Sept. 23.
Truck Hits Light, Planter

No tickets were issued after a semitrailer owned by an Oklahoma City trucking company hit a light standard and wood planter on the southeast corner of 47th Street and Willow Springs Road at about 3:45 p.m. Sept. 24.
Western Springs police stopped the truck at 47th Street and Catherine Avenue. The truck was damaged. Minor damage was reported to the light standard. Employees of the Shell gas station reported a wood planter at the curb also was damaged.

Stay Off the Tracks
Three females were reported playing on the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks near LaGrange Road at about 8:55 p.m. Sept. 23. Police said they found a large group of people there, warned them about playing on the tracks and sent them on their way.
A 26-year-old La Grange Park man, Theodore Eisenhart, was ticketed after La Grange police said he ignored lowered railroad crossing gates at Ashland and Burlington avenues at about 7:15 a.m. Sept. 23.
Man Found Leaving Accident
Brookfield police stopped a Zion man at Ogden and Maple avenues after La Grange police said he fled an accident at LaGrange Road and Ogden Avenue at about 3:33 p.m. Sept. 23.
Edgar Cornejo, 21, received four tickets for unidentified traffic violations, according to a police shift report.
Driver Reckless
La Grange police were unable to find the driver of a gold minivan with Kansas plates reported driving recklessly north on LaGrange Road from Cossitt Avenue at about 11:06 a.m. Sept. 23.
