Rear of Car Slides on Bridge, Hits Guard Rail

Four refuse medical attention after three cars involved in rear-end chain reaction accident on LaGrange Road.

A Summit man told  La Grange police that the rear of his 2002 Ford Expedition slid around while he was driving west on the Ogden Avenue bridge between East and Burlington avenues  at about 7:57 p.m. Feb. 21 causing the vehicle to strike a concrete guard rail. No damage was reported to his vehicle. No tickets were issued. Police did not say whether there was ice on the bridge.

Two drivers and two passengers in one car refused ambulance transportation to a hospital after a three-car, rear-end collision on LaGrange Road about 100 feet south of Ogden Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 18. A 55-year-old La Grange woman reported she was stopped in the left lane while going north. She told police the car in front of her moved ahead. She began to move forward, looked down for a second and her 2006 Hyundai sport-utility vehicle hit the rear of  the 2002 Hyundai in front, which struck the rear of another vehicle. The driver in front said there was no damage to her car, confirmed by two passengers in the middle car driven by a 21-year-old Chicago woman, and she left. No tickets were issued.

A 16-year-old La Grange Park boy did not received any traffic tickets after La Grange police said the 2009 Honda he was driving struck two cars parked at Brainard Avenue and Hillgrove Avenues at about 4:07 p.m. Feb. 19.

No tickets were issued after a 51-year-old La Grange woman’s 1998 Honda Civic struck the rear of a 64-year-old La Grange man’s 1996 Lincoln Town Car Feb. 20 in the parking lot of Horton’s, 60 S. LaGrange Road.

A La Grange woman reported at about 4:53 p.m. Feb. 23 that another vehicle struck her car, causing damage, and fled. She told police she does not know when or where the collision happened.

A Hinsdale man reported at about 7:46 p.m. Feb. 20 that another vehicle struck the right front of his 2006 Lexus parked on Burlington Avenue about 25 feet east of LaGrange Road, and fled.
