Purse Stolen from Panera, Suspected Shoplifter Arrested on Warrant: Police Blotter

TUESDAY, FEB. 19

Illegal Driver I

Erick O. Mejia, 23, of the 1000 block of West Irving Park Road, Bensenville, was stopped for lacking a front license plate at the corner of La Grange Road and Garfield Avenue at 10:06 a.m. and charged with driving without a valid license, police said.

Suspected Shoplifter Arrested on Warrant 

La Grange Park police, dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in MB Bank on the 400 block of La Grange Road, arrested David Castellano, 68, last known address on the 1400 block of South Canal Street, on a Chicago Police Department warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of shoplifting. The defendant was handed over to the Chicago PD, 10th District, without incident.

Illegal Driver II

Joaquin Gaspar, 26, of the 24000 block of West Joseph Avenue, Plainfield, was stopped for driving with an expired registration on the 1000 block of La Grange Road at 1:32 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license, an expired registration and no proof of insurance, police said.

THURSDAY, FEB. 16

Purse Stolen from Panera

A purse was reported stolen while left unattended sometime in the mid-afternoon at Panera on the 400 block of La Grange Road. The amount of the theft was valued at less than $500.

FRIDAY, FEB. 15

Illegal Driver III 

Jack D. Trudinski, 30, of the 0-100 block of West Stevenson Drive, Glendale Heights, was stopped for driving with an expired registration sticker at the corner of 29th Street and Kemman Avenue at 4:11 p.m. and was charged with driving with a suspended license and a suspended and expired registration, police said.

THURSDAY, FEB. 14

Illegal Driver IV

Sergio Depaz, 28, of the 5200 block of South Christina Avenue, Chicago, was stopped for driving with an expired registration sticker at the corner of 29th Street and Kemman Avenue at 4:53 p.m. and charged with driving without a valid license and with an expired registration.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13

DUI and Open Alcohol I

Jose R. Nava, 31, of the 3700 block of West 79th Place, Chicago, was stopped for speeding on the 900 block of La Grange Road at 2:14 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after failing field sobriety tests, police said. The defendant was also charged with transporting open alcohol because police said he had an open bottle of liquor and another of beer in the car.

SUNDAY, FEB. 10

Illegal Driver V

Daniel D. Davis, 25, of the 1700 block of Campbell Avenue, Chicago, was stopped for driving without taillights on the 800 block of La Grange Road at 8:14 p.m. and was charged with driving with a suspended license, police said.

DUI and Open Alcohol II 

Danielle Edart, 26, of the 16700 block of Meadowdale Drive, Oak Forest, was stopped for speeding at the corner of La Grange Road and 31st Street at 8:18 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after failing field sobriety tests, police said. The defendant was also charged with transporting open alcohol because police said she had an open bottle of brandy and two containers of tequila in the car.
