Substance Field Tests as Heroin, Tires Slashed: La Grange Park Police Blotter

La Grange Park police reports. Dec. 11-18.

FRIDAY, DEC. 14 

Tires Slashed

Someone cut the tires of two vehicles on the 1000 block of Forest Avenue at an unspecified time. Police said no other vehicles nearby were damaged. 

Car Burgled for Cash

Cash—in coins and bills—was reportedly stolen from an unlocked car on the 500 block of Brainard Avenue at an unspecified time. It's not known how much money was taken. Police noted that a locked vehicle also in the driveway was left alone.

THURSDAY, DEC. 13

Illegal Driver

James E. Kidd Jr., 20, of the 1100 block of Eastern Avenue, Bellwood, was stopped after police said he was speeding on the 700 block of La Grange Road at 1:44 a.m. He was charged with driving without a license and with a suspended registration.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 12 

Possible Heroin Possession 

Sheri L. Knepple, 22, of the 500 block of Beach Avenue, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Officers responding to a distress call at the defendant’s address at 12:02 p.m. found syringes, a burnt spoon and a white powder that field-tested as indicative of heroin, police said.

MONDAY, DEC. 10 

Theft Warrant Served

David B. Ruiz, 37, of the 400 block of North Beach Avenue, was arrested at his address at 3:35 p.m. on an outstanding warrant for theft from the Downers Grove Police Department, police said.
