Suspicious Man Just a Tired Bike Rider
A 55-year-old Brookfield man who was at the bike rack outside the La Grange Public Library at about 1:54 a.m. told police he was riding his bike, became tired and was just resting. Police sent him on his way.
Sunday, June 17Umpire Goes to Hospital After Being Hit By Baseball
A 57-year-old man who was umpiring a game at Sedgwick Park, at 10th Avenue and 49th Street, was hit in the head by a baseball and taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 8:56 p.m.

Girl’s Bike Stolen at The Field Club
A girl’s 26-inch purple and silver bicycle with a ripped black seat was reported stolen at The Field Club, 1300 W. 47th St., at about 10:16 p.m. Its value was less than $500.
Car Follows Ambulance, Blows Red Lights
Family members of a patient riding in a La Grange Park ambulance blew through all the red lights on 47th Street while following the vehicle west from Ashland Avenue at about 8:48 a.m., La Grange police were told. The ambulance already was at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital by the time police arrived and an officer was not able to see any violations.

Bike Stolen on La Grange Road
A black Eastern Ramrodder bicycle worth $235 was stolen on the 0-100 block of La Grange Road, La Grange police learned at about 3:07 p.m.
Wallets Stolen Out of Cars
A La Grange Park woman told La Grange police that her wallet was stolen two days earlier out of her car parked on the 0-100 block of Drexel Avenue. Her driver’s license was turned in, but she will cancel her credit cards that were inside the wallet.
Someone broke into a vehicle parked on the 400 block of east Cossitt Avenue and stole a wallet from inside, police were told at about 12:06 p.m.
Window Screens Damaged at School
Window screens were damaged overnight at St. Cletus School, 700 W. 55th St., La Grange police said.
Open Burning Extinguished
A controlled fire in the backyard of a home on the 200 block of Sawyer Avenue was reported at about 9:23 a.m. The resident put out the fire and was told open burning is against village ordinances.
Two Broken Mailboxes
Two males walking north on Waiola Avenue near 53rd Street were breaking mailboxes at about 2:08 a.m., police said. A police officer did not see the two but found a mailbox that had been removed from a pole. The officer put it back.
