Police Blotter: Stolen Items Recovered, Coyotes Seen and Email Possibly Hacked

La Grange police said they have recovered some of the items taken Oct. 15 out of a home on the 400 block of south Stone Avenue and arrests are pending of two teen boys from La Grange.

A boy living in the home allowed two youths he knew to enter the home at about 2 p.m., said police investigator Patrick Fulla. The boy later noticed a game system, iPhone and other items were missing. Some of the items were found at a location that was not the homes of the boy or the acquaintances, police said.

A Countryside woman called La Grange police Oct. 15 from the emergency room of Hinsdale Hospital to report her 15-year-old son was battered on the 800 block of south Catherine Avenue between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. that day in an incident reported as a possible strong-arm robbery. Police had no further information Oct. 18.

Five Dine and Ditch

Four boys and one girl, in their teens or early 20s, left Al Charhouse, 32 S. LaGrange Road, at about 9:57 p.m. Oct. 14 without paying for more than $100 worth of food and drink they ordered, police said.  

Camera Stolen

A resident of the 100 block of south Spring Avenue reported Oct. 17 that a camera, worth more than $300, that he left on a rear porch was missing. He last saw the camera in August.

Two Coyotes Seen

A La Grange woman told police at about 8:36 p.m. Oct. 17 that her husband was walking their small dog near 48th Street and Seventh Avenue when they saw two large coyotes standing about 30 feet away. The coyotes started snarling and showing their teeth. Her husband picked up the dog and said the coyotes ran west on 48th Street.

Couple Chooses Sides

A husband throwing  property out the window of a home on the 0-100 block of Madison Avenue was reported at about 11:17 p.m. Oct. 17. Police said they found the husband and wife throwing mutual property out of the house. The two have a court order and will stay on separate sides of the house, police added.

Two Water Mains Break

The La Grange Public Works Department was called at about 1:12 a.m. Oct. 18 for water main breaks at 49th Street and Sixth Avenue and on the 600 block of south Seventh Avenue.

Email Possibly Hacked

A La Grange woman told police Oct. 17 that she believes someone hacked into her email.  All her emails were wiped out and friends were notifying her that her email address was used to solicit money from them. She will contact her Internet server and watch her credit report.
