Thursday, June 21

Late-Night Bicycle Theft

A red, blue and black Trek 4500 bicycle was stolen from behind businesses on the 0-100 block of La Grange Road between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m., La Grange police said. It was worth less than $300.

Loud Noise Reported Twice

Loud noise coming from a back porch on the 100 block of Washington was reported to police at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday and 12:18 a.m. Thursday. The occupants promised to be quieter.

Stolen Credit Card Used in La Grange

A Brookfield woman reported at about 3:10 p.m. that someone used her credit card, which had been stolen in Brookfield, to makes a purchase at the 7-Eleven store at East and Ogden avenues. She filed police reports in La Grange and Brookfield.

Grill on Fire Near Garage

The La Grange Fire Department responded to a call at about 6:40 p.m. of a grill on fire next to a garage at a home on the 0-100 block of Bassford Avenue.

Man Asks Girls For Drugs

An older man was asking young girls on La Grange Road north of Cossitt Avenue at about 9:39 p.m. if they had any drugs. He left southbound in a white Cadillac. Police could not find the car.

Someone Uses Man’s ATM Card

A La Grange man reported at about 11:56 a.m. that someone used his ATM card without his authorization.

iPhone Stolen from Park

An iPhone was stolen at Sedgwick Park, 49th Street and 10th Avenue, La Grange police learned at about 1:05 p.m. It was worth less than $500.

Man Knocks on Window, Scares Driver

A woman pulled into a parking lot on the 300 block of Ninth Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. and said a man pounded on her window and asked for food. She pretended to call police on a cell phone and said the man left.    

Tuesday, June 19

Matteson Couple Get Tickets

A couple from Matteson was ticketed after la Grange police stopped their car at Ogden and Catherine avenues at about 11:58 p.m. Sheldon Jones, 38, was ticketed for improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more. Anjanette Jones, 36, was ticketed for allowing a person under the influence of alcohol to drive.

Teen Boys seen Pulling at Sign

Two teen boys were seen pulling at a construction sign at La Grange Road and Cossitt Avenue at about 8:05 p.m., police said. Police found the sign intact. One boy told police he pulled at the sign but did not intend to steal it. The officers gave them a warning.
