Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Possible Break-Ins and More
The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange police blotter.
Two La Grange residents reported identity theft to police Dec. 7.
A resident of Elm Avenue reported $250 was withdrawn from a bank account from outside Illinois. Chase will not hold that person liable for the loss, said Patrick Fulla, La Grange police investigator.
No further information was available Dec. 12 from police about a resident of Sixth Avenue who reported Dec. 7 being a victim of identity theft.

Home Break-in Suspected
A resident of a home on the 300 block of Sunset told police that, when they came home Dec. 6, it appeared someone may have gone through it. Police had no further information Dec. 12.

Suspicious Activity
A resident of the 0-100 block of Madison reported Dec. 6 that a neighbor saw a man after 11 p.m. Dec. 3 go to her back door, open the screen door and look inside. That woman was not home at the time. She said the neighbor approached the man and said he fled.
A woman about 5-foot-6 with brown hair and wearing a long brown coat was reported trying handles of cars parked near La Grange Road and Burlington Avenue at about 6:50 p.m. Dec. 6. La Grange police found a woman matching that description at La Grange Road and Harris Avenue, took her to the nearby train station and said she got on a commuter train.
Solicitors, No Scam
La Grange police said there is no evidence of a scam in a report at about 7:13 p.m. Dec. 6 of a woman wearing a blue coat and a girl age 9 or 10 selling candy on the 0-100 block of Hillgrove Avenue.
Bike Stolen
A white Iron Horse bicycle was reported at about 6:40 p.m. Dec. 7 as stolen from the owner’s friend’s house on the 0-100 block of Bassford Avenue. Its value was $300 or under.
Water Main Breaks
A water main break was reported behind property on the 900 block of Eighth Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. Dec. 8. The break was not large and was going to be monitored.
