TUESDAY, JULY 10

Driver Won’t Dim Bright Lights

A Chicago woman was ticketed after she did not dim her bright lights while driving east on the 1100 block of 31st Street at about 2:05 a.m. after a La Grange Park police officer coming in the opposite direction flashed his headlights at her to warn her. Maria B. Martinez, 26, was ticketed for failure to dim and no valid driver’s license.

Same Words Written in 2 Graffiti Incidents

The words “Fallen Angels” were spray-painted on Yena Park property, La Grange Park police learned, after having been spray-painted two days earlier on the side of Brook Park School. Police said the graffiti was not gang-related.

Basketball Game Sparks Fight

A fight between two people over a basketball game was reported at 200 Washington Avenue at about 8:23 p.m. A crowd had gathered to watch the fight, but everyone scattered before La Grange police arrived. The park was closed for the night.

Fire Hydrant Painted White

A fire hydrant on the 300 block of south Stone Avenue had been painted white, police learned at about 7:46 p.m. The La Grange Department of Public Works was notified to return the color to red.

No, That Bike Is Not Free

A La Grange resident reported someone came to the door at about 1:11 p.m. and asked if a blue and white, girl’s seven-speed bicycle on the parkway was free. Police picked up the bicycle.

Kids in Elm Park After Hours

Youngsters in Elm Park, Elm and Brainard avenues, at 10:05 p.m. after regular hours were sent home by police.

Truck Hits Traffic Light

A 2008 Peterbilt truck driven by a Nashville man struck a traffic light at Ogden and East avenues at about 1:12 p.m. He was not ticketed.

Truck Rear-ends La Grange Woman’s BMW

Boguslaw Wojnicki, 58, of Schiller Park was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after his 2001 Kenilworth truck struck the rear of a BMW driven by a 57-year-old La Grange woman about 100 feet east of La Grange Road on Ogden Avenue at about 3:10 p.m.  

SATURDAY, JULY 7

Loud Car Muffler Causes Traffic Stop

A La Grange Park police officer was stopped at 29th Street and Kemman  Avenue at about 12:23 p.m. and reported hearing a loud car muffler from the north. A 1999 Volkswagen Jetta passed him and was stopped by police in the 900 block of Kemman. The driver, Roberto Sanchez, 25, of Chicago was ticketed for having a defective muffler, expired registration, no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.

MONDAY, JULY 2

No Left Turn Onto Barnsdale

A Broadview resident was ticketed after a La Grange Park police officer said he saw his tan sport-utility vehicle, westbound on the 700 block of 31st Street, turn left onto Barnsdale at about 9:47 p.m. despite a sign saying no left turns. Quennel D. Lemons, 24, was ticketed for no left turn and driving while his license was suspended.
