Tuesday, June 26

Cause Unknown for Car Fire

The La Grange Fire Department responded to a car on fire near a garage at Cossitt and Tilden avenues at about 1:39 a.m. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Car Hits Squirrel

A squirrel was hit by a car at 47th Street and Blackstone Avenue, police learned at about 8:40 p.m.

Man Harasses Library Workers

A man carrying books was harassing staff at the La Grange Public Library, 10 W. Cossitt Ave., and chased an employee at about 5:15 p.m. Police could not find him.

Woman Falls on Face, Taken to Hospital

A 58-year-old woman fell on her face in the driveway of a home on the 0-100 block of north Edgewood Avenue and was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 6:14 p.m.

Man Screaming in Alley

A man was reported screaming in an alley on the 600 block of Sixth Avenue at about 6:42 p.m. He was gone when police arrived.

Someone Playing Drum in Gordon Park

Someone was playing a handheld drum in the northeast corner of Gordon Park, Ogden and Locust avenues, at about 7:42 p.m. and was told to stop by 10 o’clock. When police were called again at 8:32 p.m. they told the drummer to call it a night.  

Baseball Probably Broke School Window

An 8-by-8-inch double-pane window was found broken at about 8:10 a.m. at Spring Avenue School, 1001 S. Spring Ave., probably by a baseball, according to La Grange police. Only the outer window was broken on the east side of the school near the kindergarten room.

Identity Theft Reported at Hospital

Identity theft was reported at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 Willow Springs Road. Further information was not available June 29 from police investigators whether it involved staff or a patient.

Thursday, June 21

Chicago Man gets 3 Tickets

A 29-year-old Chicago man received three traffic tickets after a La Grange Park police officer saw his car, without a front license plate, going south on the 800 block of north La Grange Road at about 4:19 p.m. Richard Gonzalez, 4558 S. Archer, was ticketed for no front registration, no proof of insurance and driving while his license was suspended.
