Blotter: Man Wanted on Warrant, Solicitors Reported and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

Man Wanted on Warrant

Willowbrook police on Jan. 14 picked up Ricky Owens who was wanted on a warrant for obstructing identification. He had local charges in Willowbrook and also was wanted on a Missouri warrant, police said. He was being held in DuPage County Jail.

Solicitors Reported

A woman and girl were trying to sell candy to businesses on the 0-100 block of Calendar Court at about 7:47 p.m. Jan. 14.

Car Window Broken

The window of a car parked on the 700 block of Seventh Avenue was broken, its owner reported to La Grange police at about 7:26 a.m. Jan. 14.

Two Go to Hospital

A 15-year-old boy was taken by La Grange Fire Department ambulance to Hinsdale Hospital at about 10:19 a.m. Jan. 14 after he reportedly dislocated his elbow in the Vaughn Building at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave.

Taken by ambulance to La Grange Adventist Memorial Hospital at about 2:57 a.m. Jan. 14 was a 29-year-old Brookfield man who was found in an alley off Calendar Avenue between Sawyer and Washington avenues, unconscious but breathing.

Gas Leak Reported

A La Grange public works crew working on a water main break on the 500 block of Seventh Avenue accidentally hit a gas line, causing a gas leak at about 9:25 a.m. Jan. 14. Nicor responded.

Man Gets 4 Tickets

Jesus Garcia-Gasper, 21, of Orland Park received four traffic tickets after La Grange Park police said they stopped his 2005 Suzuki at about 3:18 a.m. Jan. 12 in the 1400 block of north LaGrange Road for crossing lines in traffic and found open beer containers in the vehicle.

He was ticketed for improper lane usage; driving while his license is suspended; no proof of insurance; and transporting open alcohol.

A police officer was northbound and said the Suzuki in front drove into southbound lanes for about 15 feet and then drove in the middle of the two northbound lanes for about 100 feet. The officer found an open bottle of beer in the front console and an open can of beer in the back.

Teen Girl Ticketed

A 17-year-old girl from La Grange Park was ticketed for improper lane usage and failure to reduce her speed to avoid an accident after she told La Grange police that she lost control of the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe she was driving west on Cossitt Avenue over the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad  tracks and struck the front of another vehicle stopped at Tilden at about 7:32 p.m. Jan. 13.

Lyons Man’s Vision ‘Blocked’

A Lyons man told La Grange police that a vehicle stopped south on La Grange Road blocked his vision while he was northbound and turning left onto Goodman Avenue at about 7:29 p.m. Jan. 13 and he did not see another southbound vehicle that he hit. Daniel Lovrinovic, 25, was ticketed for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said. The 16-year-old La Grange boy in the other car was not reported injured.
