Tuesday, March 19

Homeless man makes threats

A woman reported a homeless man making threats around 8:40 a.m. at the La Grange Road Train Station, 25 W. Burlington Ave., police said.

Drunken student at LT

A drunken student walked out of Lyons Township High School North Campus around 9:04 a.m. and went to a store, police said. Officers released the student to her mother.

Monday, March 18

Fake Publisher’s Clearinghouse call

A woman received a call from someone pretending to be with Publisher’s Clearinghouse, who said he was going to be at her home in an hour and 45 minutes with a large check and prize, police said. Officers advised the woman, who lives in the 400 block of South Kensington, not to respond to that request or any like it in the future.

Homeless man makes mess in bank

Chase Bank, 14 S. La Grange Rd., reported that a homeless man was inside the bank “making a mess” around 4:11 p.m., police said. The man has been warned that he is banned from the bank, but police said he keeps coming back. Officers sent the man on his way.

Suspended, revoked license

Michelle Gonzalez, 29, was arrested around 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of 48th and La Grange, police said. She was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Sunday, March 17

Wild night at Palmer Place

The music was shut down at Palmer Place, 56 S. La Grange Rd., around 12:19 a.m. after two callers complained that it was too loud, police said. The restaurant had a permit stipulating that music should be turned down after 10 p.m.

A short while later, three people reported that their coats had been stolen from Palmer Place within 30 minutes of one another. The coats included a grey men’s North Face jacket, a black women’s knee-length, puffy Burberry coat with car keys in the pocket, and a double-breasted navy blue men’s pea coat.

Saturday, March 16

Fight between sisters

A woman reported around 11:53 a.m. that her sister had beaten her the day before in the 1000 block of South Stone Avenue, police said. No charges were filed.

Package theft

A woman said she bought a $50 drill bit on Amazon, and although UPS delivered it on March 13, police said she never received it.

Friday, March 15

Pit Bull attacks poodle

A pit bull attacked a toy poodle being walked by its owner around 11:03 p.m. in the 300 block of Bluff Avenue, police said. The 4-pound poodle was not permanently injured. 

Concrete sign knocked over

A concrete sign near the intersection of La Grange and Shawmut was knocked over, police said.

Balloon animal business goes bust

A man set up a stand and was making balloon animals for cash in front of DiNico’s around 8:18 p.m., police said. He claimed the restaurant invited him to do this, but DiNico’s denied it. The man was warned that he will be arrested if he does this again without a permit.

Hit-and-run near Spring and Ogden

A silver four-door vehicle reportedly hit a parked car near the intersection of Spring and Ogden around 8:39 a.m., police said. The elderly male driver continued driving northbound on Kensington.
