Woman Caught Peeing in Public

Melissa Gonzales, 29, of Villa Park, was arrested for public urination and a liquor-related warrant out of DuPage County. Police said they saw Gonzales peeing in the public way around 12:15 a.m. in the 7300 block of Madison Street. She was processed on the warrant and given a ticket for public urination.

First Time Drunk: Oak Park Man Punches Bar Window

Kylon Hartzog, 21, of Oak Park was arrested for punching a window around 2:30 a.m. at Shortstop Lounge, 7425 Madison St. Hartzog told police he was intoxicated and that it was the first time he'd been drunk since he turned 21, police said. 

Stroller Used to Hide Theft (No Baby in There)

Police charged Valyncia Graham, 23, of Bellwood with felony retail theft after she stole $364 in electronics and hair care items from Wal-Mart around 7:40 p.m. 

Police said Graham tried to leave the store with the merchandise hidden in her stroller and set off the sensor alarms. 

Graham told police her friend was putting the merchandise in the stroller and that she tried to buy lotion and perm to disguise the items in the stroller in case the sensors went off, police said. 

She was processed on one count of felony retail theft and given a May 30 court date.

OAK PARK

Rooftop Walker Damages Cars

A resident in the 1000 block of Lyman Avenue told police he saw a man who looked about 19 walking on car roofs between about 7 p.m. May 29 and 3 a.m. May 30. The caller said he also saw a girl who looked about 17 with the guy and heard her saying "let's go," police said. The total damage estimate is $1,000, police said. 

LA GRANGE PARK

Trespassing for Turtle Return

Police charged Jayson Piper, 28, of Brookfield with trespassing around 8 a.m. in the 1200 block of Homestead Road. Piper was arrested after he put a turtle in a fish tank on the back porch of his ex-girlfriend's apartment, where he'd received a criminal trespass notice keeping him from the area, police said. Piper was processed, given an I-Bond of $1,500 and a July 10 court date.

LA GRANGE

Flag Pole Tampering

Kamil Halon, 23, of the 7600 block of South Cork Avenue in Justice, and Roberto U. Napoles, 23, of the 6000 block of South 75th Street in Summit, were issued no trespassing notices for tampering with the flag pole in front of Village Hall, police said. The flag was on the ground but appeared to be unharmed, police said. Both men were drunk, so police sent them home in a cab, according to the report.

Man Makes Threats, Throws Things at Cars

A man was throwing things at cars and threatened to shoot a man in the 0-99 block of North La Grange Road around 8:29 p.m., police said. Officers located the man and released him without charges.
