No One Hurt When Garbage Truck, YMCA's SUV Collide in La Grange

Here is a lits of items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.

No one was reported injured when a garbage truck and a 2004 Chevrolet Carryall owned by YMCA of Metro Chicago collided at 47th Street and Brainard Avenue at about 10:07 a.m. July 18.

The right side of the sport-utility vehicle, driven by a 24-year-old Chicago man, collided with the left side of the Allied Waste Services’ 2007 Mack truck, driven by a Lake-in-the-Hills man, police said. No tickets were issued. No more information was on the police report.

A 55-year-old Brookfield woman was ticketed July 19 by a La Grange Park police officer who was randomly checking license plates  at 31st Street and Kemman Avenue at about 8:09 a.m.

Marcia L. Mrazek was ticketed for suspended registration and driving while her license was suspended after her 2003 black Ford ZX-2 was stopped in the 3100 block of Grand Avenue.

Her license was suspended for a mandatory insurance violation but the driver told police she was working to clear up the suspension

Car hit in lot

A 1995 Toyota Camry  belonging to a Berwyn man was hit in a private lot at 140 N. LaGrange Road by a car that fled, La Grange police learned  at about 1:24 a.m. July 20. The other vehicle may have been a green Infiniti.

Two hit-and-runs

A black sport-utility vehicle struck a vehicle in front of La Grange Village Hall, 53 S. LaGrange Road, went north on LaGrange Road, east on Harris and possibly entered the parking garage, according to police. The police shift report did not indicate whether that vehicle was found.

A vehicle fled after an accident with property damage in the 400 block of south Seventh Avenue at about 1:05 p.m. July 21. The report did not indicate whether the vehicle hit another car or something on someone's property.  

Drivers ticketed

Julio Gaitan, 37 of Cicero was ticketed for no driver’s license and one other unidentified traffic violation when La Grange police stopped his car at 47th Street and East Avenue at about 6:08 p.m. July 21.

A 27-year-old La Grange man, Joshua A. Marker, was ticketed for driving with a suspended or revoked license and one other unidentified traffic violation at Brainard and Ogden avenues at about 8:34 a.m. July 20.
