Man Threatens to Bike Over Woman, Dog; Bike Theft Thwarted: Police Blotter

Bike Theft Thwarted
Damion Stapleton, 42, no address listed, was arrested around 8:05 a.m. near Stone and Ogden, police said. Stapleton was seen taking a bicycle from the Stone Avenue Train Station, police said. He was charged with theft.

Man Threatens to Bike Over Woman, Dog
A drunken man rode a bike toward a woman and her dog around 10:53 p.m. in the 400 block of West Cossitt while telling her he was going to run her over, police said. The man was gone when police arrived.
Firework Remains Found
A woman found the remnants of fireworks in the bushes around 6:34 p.m. in the 600 block of South La Grange Road, police said.

Man Stands on Railroad Tracks
An 18-year-old La Grange Park man was ticketed for standing on the railroad tracks at the Brainard and Burlington crossing, police said.

A bike was stolen from the La Grange Road train station sometime during the day, police said. The bike was worth less than $500.

Graffiti on Dumpster
The word “aero” was spray painted on a dumpster behind a business in the 600 block of South La Grange Road, police said.
Men Pound on Door
Two men pounded on a residential door around 1:21 a.m. in the 1000 block of South 8th Street, police said. They were warned and sent on their way.

Gang Graffiti Found
Gang graffiti was reported behind Balkan Bakery, 541 South La Grange Road, police said. The graffiti was drawn sometime on July 2.
