Man Taken to Hospital With Possible Heart Problems After Traffic Stop

Crash by postal employee among accidents reported to La Grange police.

A 31-year-old Roselle man was brought April 27 to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, due to a possible heart condition, after La Grange police stopped his vehicle in the 700 block of East Avenue at about 10:03 a.m.

The driver, Carl R. Vege, also received four tickets for unidentified traffic violations, according to the police shift report.

La Grange police had received a report of a silver Ford F-150  driving recklessly going east on Cossitt at Seventh Avenue, driving up curbs and “going all over the road.” The Ford was reported going south on East Avenue, where an officer stopped Vege’s vehicle.

Postal employee hits car

A vehicle driven by an employee of the La Grange Post Office accidentally hit a car parked in front of 64 S. Ashland Ave., La Grange police learned at about 11:53 a.m. April 28. Further information was not available.

Driver ticketed for DUI

A 22-year-old La Grange Park man, Damien Noonan, was ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol and two other unidentified traffic violations when his car was stopped at LaGrange Road and Ogden Avenue at about 2:38 a.m. April 28, according to La Grange police.

Hit-and-run reported

A hit-and-run accident was reported at about 3:58 p.m. April 28 at Sixth and Burlington avenues, according to La Grange police.   

Car hits pole

Police found a red car smashed up in the 800 block of south Seventh Avenue at about 7:47 a.m. April 28 and determined it hit a village pole on the west side of the street. The driver was walking around, police said. Public Works was notified. The police shift report did not indicate whether the driver was ticketed.

Road rage reported

A man went to the La Grange police station at about 3:53 p.m. April 27 to report another driver had cut him off on eastbound Ogden Avenue near Spring Avenue at Ogden Avenue School.

Two tickets issued

Felipe Loma-Lozana, 42, of Hodgkins was ticketed by La Grange police for no driver’s license and one other unidentified traffic violation at LaGrange Road and Maple Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. April 27.

More collisions

Collisions were reported at 47th Street and East Avenue between a Chevrolet and Ford at about 4:01 p.m. April 28; on Ogden Avenue east of LaGrange Road at about 5:49 p.m. April 28; and in the 400 block of south Gilbert Avenue at about 8:28 a.m. April 27. More information was not available on police shift reports.
