Man Says He's a Pedophile, Terrier Bites Doberman: Police Blotter

Friday, May 17

"I'm a Pedophile"

A white man in his 20s with long brown hair approached a man around 3:37 p.m. in the 500 block of South 10th Avenue and said he was a pedophile, La Grange police said. The self-proclaimed pedophile drove away in a blue PT Cruiser.

Warrant arrest

Brian A. Burke, 49, of the 5800 block of South Rutherford in Chicago, was arrested around 3:46 p.m. near the intersection of 47th Street and La Grange Road on a Justice warrant for driving with a suspended license, police said.

Teens drag bin down Waiola

A group of teenagers dragged a recycling bin down Waiola around 10:23 p.m., police said. When they let it go, it hit a car parked near the intersection of Goodman and Waiola, police said.

DUI near 6th and 47th

Erik J. Meade, 31, of the 200 block of East Street in Morris, was arrested around 1:05 a.m. near the intersection of 6th and 47th Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence.

Thursday, May 16

Woman scares kids

A woman was scaring little kids outside Impact Dance Studio, 6 S. La Grange Road, around 4:44 p.m., police said. Officers sent the woman on her way.

Teen steals backpacks

A 14-year-old boy stole backpacks and was otherwise causing trouble at the basketball courts of 7th Avenue School around 7:20 p.m., police said. The officer turned the boy over to his parents and no charges were filed.

Wednesday, May 15

Suspended registration

Lisette M. Renova, 22, of the 3500 block of South 52nd Street in Cicero, was arrested near the intersection of La Grange Road and 47th Street around 3:41 p.m., police said. She was charged with driving with a suspended registration.

Parking garage defaced

An officer saw that someone defaced the lobby of the parking garage around 8:36 p.m. He took pictures of the defacement and reported it to Public Works.

Suspended, revoked license

John A. Galik, 23, of the 14000 block of Kostner Avenue in Midlothian, was arrested around 7:50 a.m. near the intersection of Blanchan and Ogden, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

"Is your husband home?"

A woman told police that a man with a beard who was wearing glasses asked for directions in the 100 block of East Cossitt Avenue, and then started asking personal questions such as whether she’s married or if her husband is home. Officers were unable to locate the man, who was driving a gray Ford, but put a special watch on the area.

Terrier bites Doberman

A terrier mix bit a Doberman in the neck on May 10 in the 600 block of South Catherine, police said. The Doberman’s owner later found marks on its neck and reported the incident to police.

Tuesday, May 14

Suspended, revoked license

Carlos B. Andrade, 34, of the 2000 block of West 18th Street in Chicago, was arrested around 4:01 p.m. near the intersection of La Grange Road and Maple, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Parking meter hit and run

Someone struck a parking meter in the 500 block of West Burlington around 9:04 a.m. before driving away, police said.
