Man Kicked in Groin in Road Rage Fight

A man reported he was kicked in the groin during an apparent road rage fight at the intersection of 47th and 9th about 5:50 p.m. Police said the complainant got into it with another driver after he was cut off at 47th and 10th.

Creepy Man Threatens Girl, 16, Who Turned Him Down

Police charged Major Stanley, 24, of Lyons, with aggravated assault after he threatened to beat a 16-year-old Oak Park girl who wouldn't give him her phone number on Saturday, Oct. 5. 

Police said the Stanley followed the girl and her father out of a restaurant in the 400 block of North Harlem Avenue about 11:55 p.m., repeatedly asking for the girl's number. When she refused, he started using profanity and threatening to beat her. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and held on bond. 

Bike Thief Caught Hedge-Trimmer-Handed

Thomas Spraggins, 19, of Chicago, was arrested for stealing a bike in the 200 block of Washington Boulevard about 1 p.m. Oct. 6. Police responded to a call about a suspicious person going back and forth between buildings in the 300 block of Wesley, where they found Spraggins near a bike with a cut padlock, police said. Police said he also had a pair of hedge trimmers in his pocket, and later admitted to stealing the bike. He was processed and held on bond. 

Thieves Get Fruity Fix Stealing Hawaiian Punch

Two males in their early 20s stole six bags of Fritos and four Hawaiian Punch drinks from a Shell gas station at 6129 North Ave. about 2:40 a.m. Oct. 7. The total estimated loss is about $13, police said. 

WESTERN SPRINGS

Woman Hits School Bus

A 44-year-old La Grange woman driving a 2012 Ford Explorer was cited for improper passing of a school bus, police said, after she attempted to go around a stopped bus in the 4900 block of Gilbert Avenue at 8:01 p.m. and struck the stop sign that was still out after the bus had unloaded its passengers.

Police said the Explorer, which went up a curb when the driver tried to pass, had a large scrape along its passenger side, but the bus was not damaged. No injuries were reported.
