Man Dances, Screams in Downtown La Grange: Police Blotter

Tuesday, March 26
DUI near Homestead and La Grange
David E. Laurie, 57, of the 3700 block of Morton in Brookfield, was arrested around 1:05 a.m. near the intersection of La Grange Road and Homestead, La Grange police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Stolen iPhone
An unsecured iPhone was taken from the gym at the Park District of La Grange Recreation Center, 536 East Ave., around 6:21 p.m., police said. The phone was worth less than $500.

Fence damaged during demolition
A demolition crew damaged a fence in the 900 block of South Kensington Avenue, police said. The company agreed to fix the fence this week.
Gang graffiti
Gang graffiti was reported in the elevator at the downtown parking garage, 80 S. 6th Ave., police said.

Warrant arrest
The Illinois State Police arrested Kyle L. Travis, 33, of the 4500 block of South Drexel in Chicago, on a La Grange warrant, police said.
Graffiti at Walgreens
Graffiti was found in the bathrooms at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Rd., around 12:32 p.m., police said.
Car eggings
Two cars parked overnight in a driveway in the 00 block of Edgewood Lane were egged, police said.
Screaming and dancing on La Grange Road
A man was asked to stop screaming while dancing around and listening to music on his phone around 10:52 a.m. near the intersection of La Grange Road and Harris, police said. The man agreed and went on his way.
Sunday, March 24
Stolen phone
A phone was stolen from the park district recreation center around 5:03 p.m., police said. The phone was worth less than $500.
Homeless man harasses people
A special watch was put on the downtown parking garage, 80 S. 6th Ave., after a woman complained around 5:36 p.m. that a homeless man was yelling and following her, police said. The woman was also told to call police if she feels unsafe.
Later that day, a group of kids said that the same homeless man was harassing them in the garage, police said.
