Man Approaches Boys With Stuffed Animal, Questions
Skateboarders blamed for vandalizing sign at school.
A man holding a blue stuffed dog approached a group of boys at Ashland and Calendar avenues at about 5:02 p.m. June 5, asked where they live and what school they attend, according to La Grange police. The man had brown hair, was wearing a white shirt and khaki pants. He was last seen walking north on Ashland Avenue, but was gone when police arrived.
School tow sign vandalized
A tow sign at Cossitt Avenue School, 115 W. Cossitt Ave., was marked by graffiti apparently made by a skateboarding crew, La Grange police learned June 5.

Business window broken
Someone broke the front window of a business on the 1000 block of south LaGrange Road, La Grange police learned at about 8:20 a.m. June 4.

House hit by eggs
A house on the 100 block of north Ashland Avenue was egged between 4:30 and 10:15 p.m. June 3.
Bike stolen
Someone stole a purple and white Schwinn women’s mountain bike off an unlocked back porch in the 400 block of East Avenue, La Grange police learned at about 8:52 p.m. June 3.
Woman falls, hurt wrist
A 68-year-old woman who fell and hurt her wrist at about 1:54 p.m. June 5 near the Lyons Township High School north campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave., was taken to Adventist La Garneg Memorial Hospital by Fire Department ambulance.
Car fire reported
The La Grange Fire Department responded to a report of a car on fire at the 7-Eleven, 9600 Ogden Ave., at about 12:38 p.m. June 5.
Lost, found at the carnival
A La Grange man reported losing his wallet with driver’s license and credit cards at Harris and Ashland avenues June 5 during the carnival held in downtown La Grange.
A multicolored Igloo cooler, flying disk and leis were found at about 4:16 p.m. Juner 4 at Ashland and Harris avenues.
A cell phone was found June 5 at the carnival, police said.
Kitten found
A calico brown, white and black kitten was found at Sixth Avenue and Plainfield Road at about 5:17 p.m. June 3 and turned over to the Hinsdale Humane Society.
