Blotter: How's a Drummer Supposed to Practice?

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

Drummer Too Loud

Police went to a home on the 600 block of Ninth Avenue at about 6:14 p.m. March 19 for a teen playing drums in his garage, a complaint which has been ongoing for six months. An officer told the youth not to play too long, too often or too late and said he promised to comply.

LT Student Claims Battery

A student at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave., planned March 20 to file a battery complaint against another student, a school official told La Grange police. No information was available March 23 whether the complaint was filed.

$750 Stolen

A resident of a building on the 300 block of Bluff Avenue told police March 21 that she left her room to take out garbage and when she returned, $750 was missing.

Vandalism at Elm Park

Vandalism was reported to police by the Park District of La Grange March 20 to signs and equipment at Elm Park at Elm and Brainard avenues. Additionally cigarette butts and beer bottles were left all over the ground.

Bike, Parts Stolen

The front tire of a Raleigh bicycle was reported stolen March 20 from the La Grange Road train depot, 25 W. Burlington Ave. and a bicycle seat was stolen the previous day at the same location.

A gray Trek X, 26-inch mountain bike was reported stolen March 19 at the front of a home on the 300 block of Leitch Avenue.

Bicycle Turned In

A 21-speed silver and blue mountain bike that had been chained up for two weeks on the 4700 block of Gilbert Avenue had the chain cut off and was turned in to police March 20.

Dog Hit By Car

A white poodle was hit by a car at 47th Street and Sixth Avenue at about 8:01 a.m. March 21. Since its owner does not own a car, he and the dog were taken by police to Hinsdale Animal Hospital.

Homeless Man Warned

A man wearing a gray T-shirt and blue pants was reported looking into vehicles in the village parking garage, 80 S. Sixth Ave., at about 4:02 p.m. March 21. Police found a 30-year-old homeless man on the second floor of the garage and sent him on his way.

20 minutes later, that same man was reported looking into the window of a La Grange Road restaurant and was warned not to go in. A restaurant employee  had called police on that man and was given an escort later to a vehicle.

Three Taken to Hospital

An 11-year-old girl fell and was bleeding from her head at St. John Lutheran School, 505 S. Park Road, and was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 4:19 p.m. March 21.

A 16-year-old boy possibly fractured his left ankle at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave., and was taken by Fire Department ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 10:26 a.m. March 20.

A 53-year-old man who possibly suffered a heart attack in the gymnasium at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave., was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 7:34 p.m. March 20.

Political Signs Hauled Away

A resident of the 200 block of south Kensington Avenue called La Grange police at about 7:17 a.m. March 20 to report political signs thought wrongfully to be  on the parkway. Public Works was to remove the signs.

Man Hurt in 3-Car Collision

A 32-year-old Chicago man was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital after La Grange police said he was involved in a three-car collision at 48th Street and La Grange Road at about 3 p.m. March 19.

The man was going north when he slowed to turn left. His 2005 Cadillac was hit from behind by a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by another Chicago man, then pushed into the rear of a 2003 Ford driven by a Countryside woman. No tickets were issued.

Car in Funeral Procession Hit

A 24-year-old La Grange man was ticketed March 16 after police said his car was going west on 47th Street at about 12:17 p.m., started through the intersection with a green light, struck a  vehicle in a funeral procession going through a red light and pushed it into a car stopped eastbound.  Brian Parkes, driving a 2007 Dodge owned by a Western Springs business, was ticketed for violating funeral procession statutory requirements.
