A 39-year-old La Grange woman was arrested after allegedly causing a fire Nov. 26 in the basement of her apartment building that police said caused at least $4,000 in damage to the structure.

Karen A. Uzuanis of 15 S. Waiola Ave. was charged with one count of aggravated arson. Her bond was set Nov. 28 at $100,000 and her next court date is Dec. 16

Police received multiple calls at about 12:19 a.m. of a fire that was found to be suspicious. Police had no more information in what was on fire inside the building. Fire departments from La Grange, Western Springs, La Grange Park, Brookfield and the Pleasantview Fire Protection District also responded.
