La Grange Resident's Car Hit While Illegally Parked in Oak Park
Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange police blotter.
A vehicle belonging to a La Grange resident was struck so severely while illegally parked at Lake Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Oak Park that it had to be towed, La Grange police learned at about 1:18 p.m. July 12. Oak Park police has asked that the vehicle owner be notified. The police shift report did not indicate whether the vehicle had been stolen or left at the location by the owner.
Hit-and-run reported
A man told La Grange police at about 8:09 p.m. July 12 that he had seen a blue Honda hit a silver truck in the parking lot of Caribou Coffee, 30 N. LaGrange Road, and leave the scene. Police went to the scene and said they could not locate either vehicle.

Car strikes light pole
Jennifer Lynn Cole, 30, of Westchester was ticketed after La Grange police said her car struck a street light pole on Ogden Avenue, about 40 feet east of Locust Avenue at about 2:48 a.m. July 9. She was ticketed for damage to village-owned property and failure to reduce her speed to avoid an accident.

Policed said Cole told them she was westbound in the curb lane when another vehicle swerved into her lane, causing the 2009 Honda Civic she was driving to go over the curb and strike the pole. Her cell phone was found ejected onto the pavement about 10 feet northwest of the vehicle, police said, adding no other tire marks were seen in the area.
Rear-end crash in parking garage
Both drivers refused treatment after the front of a 1996 Honda Accord driven by a Des Moines, Iowa, woman collided with the rear of a 2008 Dodge Caravan driven by a Brookfield woman in the parking garage, 80 S. Sixth Ave., at about 10:55 a.m. July 9. No tickets were issued.
Cat killed by car
Brookfield police reported at about 8:19 p.m. July 12 a cat was struck by a car at 47th Street and Seventh Avenue. The cat was placed on the southwest corner parkway and covered until it could be picked up by La Grange Public Works. The cat’s color was not described.
