La Grange Police Stepping Up Ticketing of Drivers Who Don't Wear Seat Belts

La Grange police will be conducting saturation patrols during the last two weeks of May in the village and ticketing for seat belt enforcement.

If you don't wear your seat belt while you drive in La Grange, you'd better start, or risk getting hit with a ticket.

Of course, the fact that wearing a seat belt could save your life in an accident should probably be a motivating factor as well.

announced today that they'll be stepping up ticketing for drivers who drive and don't wear a seat belt in the last two weeks of May. Increased enforcement from La Grange police is tied to a Highway Safety Memorial grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation that requires increased enforcement during a national Memorial Day "Click It or Ticket" mobilization.

La Grange police said in a press release that the goal is to educate drivers that seat belts save lives, and they wish everyone a safe Memorial Day weekend.
