La Grange Police Investigating Home Invasion That Injured Resident

Here is a list of police items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.

La Grange police on Sept. 15 said they are investigating a reported home invasion at about 7:49 a.m. Sept. 12 on the 0-100 block of East Avenue.

A 25-year-old man who lives in the home was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police investigator Ken Uher.

Two men were seen fleeing the home.

Suspicious CD, Letter

A business on the 0-100 block of south LaGrange Road requested a special police watch after a letter, referring to a murder, and a compact disc containing a rap song were dropped off at the front counter at about 4:40 p.m.  Sept. 13.

The letter stated, “Last night, some people I know murdered someone I used to be cool with,” police said. A police officer listened to the rap song on the CD but said it had no potential information about a murder.

Police are continuing to investigate.

No Link to Child Abduction Attempt

A white Dodge Caravan containing two women seen at Seventh Avenue School, 701 S. Seventh Ave., at about 10:33 a.m. Sept 12 has no connection with an incident reported , said Ken Uher, police investigator.

In that other incident, a 4-year-old boy told his mother that two women in a white van offered him Gummi Bears candy to come into their vehicle at 52nd Street and Seventh Avenue at about 6:47 p.m. Sept. 11.  The vehicle was a working-type van with no windows and last was seen gong west on Plainfield Road, the woman told La Grange police.

Camera Phone Stolen

A camera phone worth more than $300 was stolen from the AT&T store, 34 N. LaGrange Road, at about 5:15 p.m. Sept. 12.

Three  Ticketed for Same Violation

Oscar Terrazas, 52, of Chicago was ticketed for driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license and two other unidentified traffic violations when stopped by La Grange police at LaGrange Road and Ogden Avenue at about 12:49 a.m. Sept. 13.

A 30-year-old La Grange Park man, Edwin J. Rayner, was ticketed for driving while his license is suspended or revoked and two other unidentified traffic violations during a traffic stop at East and Maple avenues at about 10:35 a.m. Sept. 13.

Adrian Garcia, 22, of La Grange was ticketed for driving while his license is suspended when La Grange police stopped his car at 47th Street and Eighth Avenue at about 5:49 p.m. Sept. 13.

Checkbook Found

A checkbook belonging to a Harvey man was found Sept. 13 in Palmer Place, 56 S. LaGrange Road, and he was to pick it up at the police station.

Kids Warned

Several teenage boys who were sitting on a bench on the 400 block of Burlington Avenue and refused to leave at about 5:14 p.m. Sept. 13 were warned by a police officer that they were on private property and sent them on their way.

Kids were reported  skateboarding in the street on the 100 block of Bluff Avenue at about 4:58 p.m. Sept. 13 by a caller worried  for their safety. A police officer told them to get out of the street.
