La Grange Park Police Up Patrols Near Home of LT Employee Accused of Trafficking in Child Pornography

Police urge neighbors to serve as extra eyes in case Arger leaves his North Spring Avenue home.

La Grange Park Police are asking residents of Spring Road to remain vigilant and make sure Nathan Arger keeps to the terms of his release from federal custody.

Earlier this to the custody of his father, who resides at 538 N. Spring Ave. Under the terms of Arger’s release he is not to leave the property unless under authorized reasons set by the court.

To assist the neighborhood watch, La Grange Park police, at the behest of the federal government, are circulating a flier to residents on the same block that includes a photo of Arger and details of the charges levied against him by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Police are asking neighbors to keep a watchful eye and report if they see Arger off the property he shares with his father. Police are also increasing their patrols in the neighborhood while Arger is out on bond.

Police are also reminding residents that Arger’s case has not gone to trial and is still presumed innocent of the charges.

That led federal agents to search Arger's home where FBI agents allegedly found images of child pornography on Arger's computer. Federal agents said they logged onto an account on a peer-to-peer filing-sharing network on July 28. After searching the "friends list" on that account, agents found an individual using the screen name "Mrdizzle420" was also on the network. After browsing the shared directories for the screen name, agents downloaded over 700 images and 12 video files from Arger's computer. A search of Arger’s computer and hard drive found about 160 gigabytes of "child pornography and child erotica" according to the press release. Also found in the search were photos and video of Arger with two young girls—one partially nude.

Under the terms of his release Arger is not allowed to have any contact with a minor or use a computer or device with Internet capabilities. At LT Arger worked in the school’s television and radio stations as a non-faculty staff member. He worked after school hours, nights and weekend, according to a statement by LT officials. There are no allegations that Arger engaged in illegal activity with any LT students, or used the school's technology equipment illegally. Upon his arrest LT officials placed Arger on immediate unpaid leave.

Police are not the only ones circulating information on Arger. Since Arger’s release on bail, Patch has received several emails and notifications from area residents urging vigilance.
