La Grange Boy Charged With Stealing Bike, Trying to Sell Parts
Bicycle recovered, reassembled, La Grange police say.
A 17-year-old La Grange boy has been charged with one count of theft for stealing a bicycle, breaking it down and trying to sell the parts.
The bicycle parts have been recovered by La Grange police and it has been reassembled, said police investigator Patrick Fulla.
The bicycle was reported stolen March 29 from the rear of a residence in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue. Police received information that the bicycle was broken down and the parts were being sold. Fulla said he contacted the person rumored to be selling the parts, leading to its recovery.
