John Wilson Jr. Plans Not Guilty Plea in Indian Head Park Teen's Murder

John Wilson Jr., accused of killing Indian Head Park teen Kelli O'Laughlin, was scheduled to be in court this morning, plans not guilty plea, according to lawyer.

John L. Wilson Jr., the man charged in the brutal stabbing death of Indian Head Park teenager Kelli O'Laughin, was in court this morning to be indicted by the states attorney's office.

Authorities believe Wilson was burglarizing the when Kelli O'Laughlin, 14, arrived home around 4:30 p.m. from school at Lyons Township High School in Western Springs. O'Laughlin was stabbed multiple times and pronounced dead at that day.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Wilson's lawyer, John P. Carroll, said today that Wilson plans to plead not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and residential burglary.

Although court documents have shown that , his attorney also told the Chicago Tribune that he had no concerns about his client's mental fitness to stand trial.

Wilson is accused of entering the O'Laughlin home by breaking a back window using a rock inside a knit cap. Authorities believe Kelli O'Laughlin came home during the burglary and was killed when Wilson confronted her. Wilson is accused of stealing O'Laughlin's cell phone, her iPod Touch and some rare coins owned by the family before leaving.

Wilson was also on parole at the time of the murder.
