Here is a list of items from the La Grange Park police blotter.

A Carol Stream man crossing the 400 block of north LaGrange Road at about 4:17 p.m. June 15 was found by La Grange Park police to be wanted on a warrant in DuPage County.

Nionsa J. Ray, 22, had an active warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of criminal trespass to real property, police said. He could not post $500 bail and was brought to DuPage County jail, police said. He was given  a verbal warning on the jaywalking incident.

An officer saw him cross LaGrange Road near Pine Avenue without using the crosswalk and said he came up to the squad car asking for directions. The officer asked for his identification and found the outstanding warrant, police said.

The driver, Brittney J. Chess of Bellwood, was ticketed for driving while her license is suspended and failure to secure a child in a safety seat.

An officer on patrol did a random check of her car, seen at 31st Street and Barnsdale Road, and found the owner had a suspended license. The description of the driver and owner matched, police said. A 19-year-old woman also was in the vehicle with the child, who lives at the same address as Chess.

When the car was stopped, the officer noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana from inside.  The driver told police, “My boyfriend drives this car too.” Police did not find any drugs in the car or on the driver.
