Items Stolen Out of Two Cars in La Grange, La Grange Park

Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.

A coin bucket containing about $45 was taken out of an unlocked vehicle on the 1000 block of Barnsdale Road, La Grange Park police learned Aug. 21.

Unidentified items were taken Aug. 22 out of a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Washington Avenue in La Grange. Further information was not available from the police shift report or investigators.

Lawn mower taken by mistake

La Grange police said someone may have mistaken an older red Toro lawn mower as trash when it was taken at about 11:45 a.m. Aug. 22 from between two trash containers on the 1300 block of west Cossitt Avenue when left for a few minutes  by the building custodian.

Leg cut with saw

A 25-year-old man who cut his leg with a circular saw on the 200 block of Blackstone Avenue was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 12:01 p.m. Aug. 22.

Unlocked bike stolen

An unlocked and unregistered bicycle was stolen Aug. 21 from the bike rack at Jewel-Osco, 507 Woodlawn Ave., according to La Grange police.

Meat sellers active again

La Grange police were unable to locate a man reported selling meat out of a gray or blue sport-utility vehicle at about 12:22 p.m. Aug. 23 on the 800 block of Seventh Avenue. The man was blond, in his 20s and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He may have been selling from the Bridgeview area, police said.

Nostalgic man taking photos

A man in his 20s reported taking photos at about 2:51 p.m. Aug. 22 at Sixth and Goodman avenues was found by police to be a former La Grange resident, who was visiting the area from Charleston, S.C., and wanted some photos. He was sent on his way.

Fight broken up

A fight involving 20 people was reported at about 8:57 p.m. Aug. 23 at Cossitt and East avenues but police said everyone ran in different directions when they arrived. One woman said she had gone to the location to pick up her boyfriend, when he got involved in an altercation with the group. She and the boyfriend were released.

Two at LT campus in early morning

La Grange police sent away two 20-year-olds found at about 12:52 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Lyons Township High School north campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave.

Kid capers

Twelve kids were reported smoking marijuana in Sawyer Park, on Sawyer near Calendar Avenue, at about 3:45 p.m. Aug. 22, but officers said no one was there.

Skateboarders near the fountain in front of La Grange Village Hall, 53 S. La Grange Road, were sent on their way by police at about 6 p.m Aug. 22.
