Cantankerous Customer Argues Over Lottery Ticket

Police responded to a call at News Stand, 4 W. Burlington Ave. about 4:25 p.m. because a customer was arguing about a lottery ticket.

Credit Card Theft 

A woman reported possible credit card fraud after someone used her credit card at three different stores in Arlington Heights and Des Plaines.

Sunday, October 27

Woman Backs Into Fence, Arrested for DUI

Police charged Mildred Lukas, 45, of the 100 block of Hayes Avenue in La Grange with driving under the influence of alcohol after she backed into a fence in someone else's car.

Police responded to a call about a fight in the alley behind Hayes Avenue about 5 p.m., where Lukas was too intoxicated to give police any further information about her verbal argument with a 68-year-old man, police said. 

Police said her blood alcohol content was .27. She was given a Dec. 2 court date and released on bond.

iPhone Stolen

A man reported his daughter’s iPhone may have been stolen while she was at LT. He told police he tracked the phone to Chicago about 10 a.m.

Saturday, October 26

Driving Without a License 

Police charged Mary Reyes, 23, of Chicago, with driving without a license during a traffic stop at the intersection of Calendar and Washington streets about 4:50 p.m. She was given a Nov. 13 court date and released on bond.

Peter Pan's Possible Problems

Police responded to a call about a possible domestic issue where one of the subjects was dressed as Peter Pan. 

Man Reports Kids Out Too Late 

A man reported a group of 12- to 13-year-old kids hanging out in a parking lot in the 0-100 block of Cossitt Avenue about 8 p.m. because he thought they were too young to be out.

Copper Stolen from Cell Tower 

Someone stole some copper buss grounds from the cell tower at 227 Shawmut Avenue about 9 a.m.

Hypodermic Needle Found in Magazines at Library 

Police responded to a call about possible drug activity at the library about 3:15 p.m., where they found a hypodermic needle in the periodicals section between two magazines.

Theft of Mislaid Property 

Police charged John Ryan, 60, of Chicago, with theft of mislaid property in the 0-100 block of West Cossitt Avenue about 3:15 p.m. He was given a Dec. 2 court date and released on bond.

Bike Stolen 

Someone stole a $400 bike from an unlocked garage in the 600 block of South 8th Avenue about 9 p.m.

Thursday, October 24

Car Egged on 7th 

A woman reported her car was egged between 10 p.m. Oct. 23 and 8 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 1000 block of South 7th Avenue.

Wednesday, October 23

Ding-Dong Ditchers on Arlington 

A woman reported some kids for ding-dong-ditching in the 1000 block of Arlington about 7:30 p.m.

Identity Theft 

A man reported identity theft after Verizon contacted him to let him know a man in New York tried to switch the security settings on his account.

Tuesday, October 22

Realtor Gets Surly

A property manager in the 0-100 block of Beacon Place reported realtors were causing trouble about 11:20 a.m. after forced entry was made to get into a unit. The manager told police the realtor was “surly” with her when she was reproved for using force to get into the unit.
