Police Busy Tracking Lost Kids, Wallets and More During Weekend Event
Little dramas play out during La Grange's annual Pet Parade and Carnival
While the annual La Grange Pet Parade and Carnival were successful events again this year, the police reported a number of minor incidents that caused angst for some residents.
Lost Kids
Two 3-year-olds who were on a Pet Parade float June 2 were temporarily separated from their parents but eventually reunited.

A 5-year-old girl who could not find her grandmother at La Grange Road and Harris Avenue at about 11:06 a.m. June 2 was reunited with her relative.
A 3-year-old boy who was missing was reunited with his family at about 11:22 a.m. June 2.

A missing autistic teenage girl was found at La Grange Road and Cossitt Avenue and reunited with her father at about 11:27 a.m. June 2.
Carnival Lost and Found
A $100 bill was found June 2 near a booth at Harris and Madison avenues during the weekend carnival and turned in to La Grange police.
A La Grange Park woman lost her purse, with driver’s license and credit cards inside, while walking around the carnival, police learned at about 7:12 p.m. on June 2.
A black wallet was found at the carnival at about 12:27 p.m. on June 2 and will be returned to its owner.
A black zippered wallet was found at about 12:34 p.m. June 2 and the name of its owner was found inside.
An LG blue-and-black cell phone was found in the lot of Cossitt Avenue School, 115 W. Cossitt Ave., at about 1:20 p.m. June 2.
More Carnival Days-Related Events
A man seen by the bike rack at the La Grange Road train depot, 25 W. Burlington Ave., at about 2:31 a.m. June 4 was found by police to be a carnival worker who was locking up his bicycle.
A man wearing a black hat was seen apparently urinating in a garbage cubical behind businesses on the 0-100 block of west Harris Avenue at about 6:42 p.m. June 1. He was gone when police arrived.
