Girl With Learner's Permit Drives Into Storefront

Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.

A 15-year-old La Grange Highlands girl, who was learning to drive, hit the accelerator by mistake and drove into Natasha’s Salon and Day Spa, 539A S. LaGrange Road, at about 7:10 p.m. Sept. 26, according to La Grange police.

No injuries were reported. The Acura she was in was towed from inside the building, police said.

Her father told police he was with her while she was driving under a learner’s permit while she pulled into the parking lot turning from LaGrange Road. She tried to park, but hit the accelerator by mistake, went over the parking post and sidewalk and hit the building, he said.

No tickets were issued, according to the police report.

A Berwyn woman reported at about 7 p.m. Sept. 23 that another vehicle struck her 2007 Honda Accord  parked in the municipal parking lot on Madison Avenue and fled.

Drivers ticketed

A 29-year-old Chicago man, Salvador Torres-Briceno, received four tickets during a traffic stop at 47th Street and LaGrange Road at about 10:09 a.m. Sept. 27. He was cited for improper lane usage, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while his license is suspended.

Jesus Nunez, 39, of Hillside received three tickets for unidentified traffic violations when stopped by La Grange police at LaGrange Road and Burlington Avenue at about 7:13 p.m. Sept. 27.

Javier Flores, 24, of Chicago was ticketed by La Grange Park police for driving while his license is revoked when an officer stopped his 1996 Chevrolet Blazer in the 1000 block of north LaGrange Road at about 5:14 a.m. Sept. 19 while randomly checking license plates of passing vehicles.
