Four Report Computers/Laptops Stolen in La Grange

Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange police blotter.

Four Report Stolen Computers

A 30-year-old man reported at about 6:57 p.m. Aug. 15 that computer was stolen while he was in the La Grange Public Library, 10 W. Cossitt Ave.

A Galaxy computer was stolen at Casa Margarita, 32 S. LaGrange Road, police learned at 10:25 a.m. Aug. 15.

A resident of the 900 block of south LaGrange Road reported the theft of a laptop computer out of a car parked in front of the house.

A portable television set and personal computer were reported at about 6:18 p.m. Aug. 14 as stolen in the last five to 10 minutes at Radio Shack, 535 S. LaGrange Road, where an employee was pushed by the offender, a man estimated to be in his 20s. The man last was seen driving south on LaGrange Road in a navy blue van.

iPhone stolen

A La Grange man reported at about 3:38 p.m. Aug. 12 that his iPhone had been stolen, possibly at the La Grange Post Office, 121 W. Hillgrove Ave., or out of his car.

Purse stolen

A Hinsdale woman reported her purse was stolen while she was on the patio at Prasino’s, 93 S. LaGrange Road, at about 9:49 p.m., Aug. 12.

Nurse injured

La Grange police are investigating a report at about 10:10 p.m. Aug. 12 of a nurse being battered by a patient in the emergency room of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 Willow Springs Road. No more information was available Aug. 16 from police invesigators.

Website hacked

A business on LaGrange Road reported someone hacked into its website and was writing inappropriate comments. No more information was available Aug. 16 from police investigators.

Woman hurt

A 50-year-old woman who possibly inured her foot at McDonald’s, 100 N. LaGrange Road, was taken  at about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 13, by ambulance to Adventist La Grange  Memorial Hospital.

Wires down

Wires were reported down behind a building on the 300 block of south Edgewood Lane at about 2:25 p.m. Aug. 13. A transformer was arcing and ComEd was called.

Fire department busy

The La Grange Fire Department  responded to a call  of a vehicle and garage fire on the 200 block of Sawyer Avenue at about 1:42 a.m. Aug. 14. No more information was available Aug. 16 from the fire department.

Firefighters also responded at about  4:21 a.m. Aug. 14o to a call of a stove and possible house fire on the 800 block of Arlington Avenue.  No more information was available Aug. 16 from the department.

Bike thefts, attempts

A Trek bicycle was stolen in the past 15 minutes from a bike rack at the La Grange Public Library, 10 W. Cossitt Ave., police learned at about 12:48 p.m. Aug. 15

A man who had his bicycle stolen about one year ago at the Stone Avenue train station, 625 W. Burlington Ave., told police  Aug. 15 that someone had tried to cut the lock off his current bicycle secured at the same location.
