Five Reported Injured in Two-Car Collision

Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange/La Grange Park police blotter.

A 39-year-old La Grange Park man was taken to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital and four other people were treated by La Grange Fire Department ambulance crews after a two-car collision at 47th Street and Edgewood Avenue at about 7:49 a.m. June 23.

That driver and two passengers in his 2001 Ford pickup truck were reported injured as were the 16-year-old La Grange girl driving a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville and her one passenger.

No tickets were issued.

La Grange police said the girl was heading eastbound on 47th Street when she hit the driver’s side of the truck that she said pulled out in front of her while going north on Edgewood. She told police she did not see a stop sign, at the four-way stop, for eastbound traffic. The pickup driver told police he did not see that the car was not going to stop at the sign.

A 52-year-old Chicago man was stopped by La Grange Park police who checked the license plates on his 1995 Jeep Wrangler driving on the 600 block of Barnsdale Road at about 5:42 p.m. June 26.

Steven Solomon was ticketed for driving while his license is revoked and registration suspended for non-insurance.   

Don’t believe in recycling?

La Grange police said they could not locate a group of four kids whom a caller said were walking south in an alley between the 700 blocks of LaGrange Road and Sixth Avenue. The group was reportedly breaking bottles from recycling bins at about 7:36 p.m. June 29.

Brick thrown at house

A resident of the 0-100 block of Seventh Avenue reported someone throwing a brick at the bricks walls of the home at about 10:13 p.m. June 29. A group of males was seen running east on Harris Avenue from Seventh Avenue. No damage was reported to the home.

School activity

Fireworks were found outside Cossitt Avenue School, 115 W. Cossitt Ave., at about 8:40 a.m. June 29.

Damage and a theft were reported at Spring Avenue School, 1001 Spring Ave., at about 10:49 a.m. June 28.

Dog found

A small brown dog was found on Drexel Avenue and returned to its owner, La Grange police learned at about 11:25 a.m. June 29.
