Fire Reported on Amtrak Train in Berwyn

No injuries or evacuation reported for fire in food service car of train.

The Berwyn Fire Department has responded to a call about a fire in the food service car of an Amtrak train stopped at the Berwyn Metra station at Stanley and Grove avenues in Berwyn.

A spokesman for Amtrak has said that there are no injuries reported and the train has not been evacuated, calling the incident a "small fire, which was quickly extingushed."

The train is currently being held by the Berwyn Fire Department at the station until it is cleared to continue its run.

No significant delays are currently expected, according to a spokeswoman for the BNSF rail line.
