Fire Department Provides Mutual Aid; Several Solicitors Reported

Here are items from the La Grange police blotter.

A business in the 400 block of Shawmut Avenue reported at about 8:53 a.m. Jan. 14  that all their trailers were gone through the previous night. La Grange police turned over the investigation to La Grange Park police after determining it was in their jurisdiction.

An employee of a shop in the 0-100 block of Calendar Avenue said two men came to the store at about 5:08 p.m. Jan. 14 trying to sell jewelry out of a square knapsack.  The two left and the employee overheard them saying they would head to LaGrange Road and try a store there. One man was bald and the other was in his 50s, with gray hair and a heavier set. Police said they were unable to locate the two.

A man found soliciting in the 800 block of 11th Avenue at about 6:45 p.m. Jan. 14 was told by La Grange police to stop and to round up two others sellers and have them stop. They were selling for The Doings newspaper, La Grange police said.

The La Grange Fire Department ambulance provided mutual aid to an accident victim at about 6:05 p.m. Jan. 16 at Western Springs Village Hall, 740 W. Hillgrove Ave.; and in La Grange Park, for someone who fainted in the 600 block on north Kensington at about 6:51 a.m. Jan. 16, and someone with unknown medical issues in the 100 block of east 30th Street at about 7:12 a.m. Jan. 16
