SUNDAY, OCT. 21

Downtown Illegal Driver

Eloy Cerda, 40, of the 1600 block of Sunnyside, Westchester, was stopped at the corner of La Grange and Hillgrove Avenue at 7:37 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license, police said.

Missing Money

A resident on the 300 block of East Avenue reported at 10:49 p.m. that she returned home and discovered money missing from her house.

Fireworks in School Parking Lot

Police received a report at 9:59 p.m. of youths “blowing off fireworks” in the school parking lot on the 100 block of Cossitt Avenue. An officer sent the group on their way with no charges.

Car Egged

A resident of the 200 block of South Kensington Avenue reported at 8:45 a.m. that his 2011 red Ford Escape had been egged over the course of the night between 11:00 p.m. Friday and 8:00 a.m. Saturday. There was no permanent damage.

Past Sexual Abuse Reported

A 22-year-old Bloomington woman came to the La Grange Police Department at 11:18 a.m. to report a sexual abuse that occurred years ago in La Grange. Police opened a case file.

THURSDAY, OCT. 18

Teenage Patient Lost and Found

A 17-year-old La Grange patient at Adventist La Grange “walked off” from the intensive care unit and was reported as missing at 5:17 p.m. He was located and returned at 11:12 a.m. Friday. (The juvenile patient was reported in an incident on Wednesday to be “possibly on drugs” and being “[held] down as he’s out of control." A search of the boy’s room came up empty.)

Car Hits Pedestrian, Everyone’s Cool with It

Police received a report at 12:50 a.m. that the previous night a car had struck a pedestrian at the corner of Brainard and Cossitt avenues in rainy conditions. The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s or 60s, was not hurt, didn't need an ambulance and didn't want to make a report. The driver contacted La Grange police as a matter of record in case the woman changed her mind.

Bike Taken from Front Yard

A resident of the 700 block of South Kensington Avenue reported at 9:10 a.m. that his black-and-white men’s 26-inch Diamondback bike had been stolen from his front yard at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The value was estimated at under $500.

Driving Without License

Rocio de la Torre, 24, of the 1600 block of South Clarence, Berwyn, was stopped at the corner of 47th Street and Bluff Avenue at 7:51 a.m. and charged with driving without a valid license, police said.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 17

Cash and Card Taken

A complainant from the 4700 block of South Willow Springs Road reported at 2:57 p.m. that a patient had had $80 in cash and a debit card taken from her room. A bank confirmed that transactions had been made on the card.

Hit-and-Run Charge

Emily Giannini, 24, of the 3700 block of Madison Avenue, Brookfield, was charged around 3:41 p.m. with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a hit-and-run accident at the corner of Ogden Avenue and La Grange Road, police said. According to police reports, the accident involved three cars, two of which had their air bags deployed. One of the parties was transported to Adventist La Grange Hospital. The defendant left the scene eastbound on Ogden Avenue, police said.

TUESDAY, OCT. 16

Teens Playing Chicken

Police received a report of teens “playing chicken” in the road at the corner of Brainard and Ogden avenues at 8:44 p.m. The teens were gone by the time an officer arrived.

Parking Disturbance

A disturbance was reported at 7:49 p.m. on the 400 block of East Avenue, with a neighbor screaming and calling names over a parking dispute. An officer separated the parties and advised them not to speak to each other any more.

Suspended License Charge

Jarmesha J. Jackson, 19, of the 3300 block of 83rd Street, Woodridge, was charged with driving with a suspended license after an accident that occurred at the corner of Ogden and Edgewood avenues at 3:08 p.m., police said.

MONDAY, OCT. 15

Outstanding Warrant Arrest

Charkina Robertson, 29, of the 0-100 block of Washington Avenue, was picked up by the La Grange Park Police Department on an outstanding La Grange warrant for driving with a suspended license, police said.

Mom Finds Son’s Drugs

Police responded at 3:41 p.m. to a resident’s complaint that she had found drugs in her 16-year-old son’s room, including rolling papers and plastic bags with cannabis residue. Police spoke to the boy about drugs and advised the parents to purchase home drug tests.

Golf Clubs Stolen

A resident of the 600 block of South Kensington Avenue reported at 12:39 p.m. that someone stole a set of golf clubs from her vehicle. The estimated value of the clubs was not reported.
