Driver Says She Dozed Off, Hit Parked Vehicle

Here is a list of reports taken from the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters,

A 20-year-old La Grange woman told La Grange police that she must have fallen asleep while driving, causing her 1995 Honda Civic to strike a car parked on the 100 block of south Madison Avenue at about 8:36 a.m. Sept. 7. She was not ticketed.

Sudden Turn Causes Accident

A 17-year-old North Riverside boy said he was driving a passenger home while going west in the center lane on Ogden Avenue at about 8:24 a.m. Sept. 6 when he was told at the last minute to turn north onto Park Road. That turn caused a collision with a 2003 Volvo, driven by a Naperville woman, that was behind him in the outer lane, police said. No injuries were reported or tickets issued.

School Vehicle Hit

A 2011 Chevrolet Express, owned by Lyons Township High School and driven by a Huntley man, collided at about 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at LaGrange Road and Calendar Avenue with a 2008 Lexus driven by a 45-year-old La Grange woman. No tickets were issued.

Hit-and-run Reported

A 27-year-old Western Springs man told La Grange police that the front left of his 2001 Honda Accord was struck while parked at Sixth Avenue and Burlington Avenue at about 3:09 p.m. Sept. 8 by a vehicle that fled.

Van Backs into Pole

The driver of a van backed into a light pole at 1 N. Kensington Ave. at about 10:43 a.m. Sept. 10. The police report did not indicate whether tickets were issued.

Iowa Resident Ticketed

Sarnai Gongor, 25, of Orland Hills, Iowa, was ticketed by La Grange police for two unidentified traffic violations at 47th Street and Ashland Avenue at about 4:39 p.m. Sept. 11.

Resident Ticketed

Michael Brockob, 33, of La Grange, was ticketed for driving while his license is suspended and one other traffic violation at LaGrange Road and Harris Avenue at about 1:13 p.m. Sept. 9.

Two Bikes Stolen

A resident of the 600 block of Stone Avenue reported Sept. 9 that a 26-inch red Schwinn bicycle was stolen about one week ago. Its value is $150.

A resident of the 300 block of Cossitt Avenue reported Sept. 9 that a red Trek 16-inch boys bike was stolen about two weeks ago from the side of the garage.

Two Bikes Found

A black BMX Free Agent Airstrike bicycle was found Sept. 8 on the 600 block of Madison Avenue.

A silver, black and green BMX-style Kawasaki bicycle was found Sept. 8 on the 800 block of south Madison Avenue.
